Community Investment: Affordable
Housing Program
Affordable Housing Program
Addressing the housing needs of
under-served populations is what the
Affordable Housing Program is all
about. In partnership with member
financial institutions and local
community development organizations,
FHLB Des Moines helps finance
affordable housing.
Beginning August 1 through September
26, applications will be accepted
for the second Affordable Housing
Program (AHP) round. The Bank’s
Board of Directors recently approved
changes to the AHP scoring criteria
in an effort to help our members and
community development organizations
deal with foreclosure issues in
their communities. Projects
involving the resale of foreclosed
properties will now be awarded
additional points in the scoring
process. The
2008 Implementation Plan has
been updated to reflect these
changes.
