Recovery & Business Continuity
The FHLB Des Moines believes planning for
disaster recovery and business
continuity is essential to the
Bank’s safe and sound operation.
The FHLB has an alternate “hot” site
from which it can operate in the
event of a disaster or business
interruption that renders its
headquarters wholly or partly
inaccessible or unusable.
Recovery processes are tested every
year and internal processes are
updated as needed to reflect any
changes in the FHLB’s technical or
business environment. In addition,
the FHLB has agreements with other
Federal Home Loan Banks to provide
wire transfer services and overnight
advances if the Bank is unable to
perform those functions.
In case of a disaster, a fax would
be sent to all members regarding any
changes in contact information or
procedure, and follow-up telephone
calls would be made to members, as
needed.
